My passion lies in continuing to support athletes as they chase their goals, while contributing to the growth of Optimal Endurance as a vibrant and inclusive endurance community.
Endurance sport has been at the heart of my life from a young age. I began as a swimmer before discovering triathlon at 14, which soon led to a deeper focus on cycling by the age of 16. From 18 to 21, I studied Sports Coaching on a cycling scholarship at the University of Central Lancashire. After graduating, I dedicated the next decade to racing at a professional level, eventually founding and competing for the Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling Team.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I returned to triathlon, earning podium finishes at events like Ironman 70.3 Egypt, and setting the fastest age-group bike split at several Ironman and Challenge-branded races.
Today, I split my time between racing at a national level in the UK and Europe, working with Optimal Endurance and British Cycling, and managing sponsorship and athlete partnerships for a number of endurance sport brands. I’m also currently studying for an MBA in Senior Leadership.
Coaching Philosophy
My coaching is rooted in science and built on strong personal relationships. I believe in taking the time to truly understand each athlete—their goals, their lifestyle, and what drives them—so I can develop training that’s both effective and sustainable.
I work with athletes across the endurance spectrum, from novice to elite, and take an event- or goal-specific approach to planning. Every programme is individually tailored, with clear focus on balancing performance ambitions with everyday life.
My passion lies in continuing to support athletes as they chase their goals, while also contributing to the growth of Optimal Endurance—not just as a coaching provider, but as a vibrant and inclusive endurance community.
We offer two monthly coaching rates: triathlon training for athletes preparing across all three disciplines, and single-sport coaching for those focused on just running, cycling, or swimming.
Triathlon / Multi
Triathlon training builds endurance, strength, and skill across swim, bike, and run.
“It has been brilliant to have the structure and accountability Jack has introduced to my training.
It’s one thing to have a plan but Jack’s support and insistence on consistency have really made the difference. This approach has not only boosted my physical capabilities but also my commitment to the sport.
Choosing Jack was a smart move for my cycling goals. His guidance has been clear, effective and to the point.
I’ve achieved more than I thought possible in a relatively short time. and I can't wait to see how the season goes”
VLAD
Cyclist
“I worked with Jack for just under 8 months in preparation for a 360km gravel race. During this time I have seen constant improvements and surprised myself with a finish time 3 hours ahead of my best case scenario.
Communication was always very good and the training adjusted to work and other commitments. On top of the personalised training plan, we also worked on nutrition, equipment and race day strategy. Jack took the time to explain the rationale behind the approach we took in training and answered my (MANY) questions. The man knows his stuff!"

Cyclist
“I’ve been coached by Jack for a little over a year now and I have found the coaching to be of an exceptionally high standard.
Personally, I find the ‘training journey’ to perhaps be more important than the goals but I am delighted to report that in my first 10 mile Time Trial of the season I’ve improved on my PB by over 40 seconds!
Jack’s tailored preparation has meant that I’m feeling confident and uninjured for the start of the season, which for an athlete in their mid-50’s is an achievement in itself "
